About the Project

Rethink Diné Power engages Navajo youth in Shiprock, NM in community activism. We’re connecting youth to their heritage, the earth and themselves to unite the community through art and agriculture. We need to rethink where the power lies, because our generation is overlooked, unappreciated, and their voice is not heard. This project is taking our power back!

Hi, I am an organizer in LA and we are working on a campaign to get LA to move beyond coal. I realize that there are a lot of consequences to the Navajo economy if coal is no longer sold. So I am really interested in how we can work with community members to help move to a renewable future. Do you guys work with Sierra Club at all?
